Khimiya. 14, 93-98 (2005):

Abstract.  In many radiochemistry textbooks and courses, the reaction c ® e++e- is usually referred to as a “conversion (transformation) of the c-ray (i.e. c- photon) into an electron-positron pair”, which is simply incorrect. Appropriate explanation of the mentioned process should be based on relativistic quantum mechanics, particularly on Dirac’s theory. Dirac’s theory is, on the other hand, rather involved those who lack a profound knowledge in relativistic quantum mechanics. The authors offer a thought experiment as a suitable analogy that helps understand the basis of the contemporary theory that lies behind the reaction in question.

Khimiya. 14, 117-124 (2005):

Abstract.  Mr. Baramov is a graduate chemistry student in the University of Sofia. The paper suggests a set of stoichiometric problems that are appropriate for students in the secondary school. Some of the problems are solved in detail. The recommendations of SI and IUPAC are carefully taken into account.

Khimiya. 14, 125-135 (2005):

Abstract.  The possibilities of the linear-dichroic infrared (IR-LD) spectral analysis about the detailed assignment of the IR-characteristic bands of the stereo structural characterization of solid-state compounds are demonstrated on a model system – 4-aminopyridine. The priority of the illustrated method compared with the conventional IR- spectral methods was also emphasized.

Khimiya. 14, 136-145 (2005):

Abstract.  The university teaching in inorganic chemistry in Bulgaria started in 1889 in the founded a year before Higher Pedagogical School. It is believed that in 1894 the Chair of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry is established. In 1924 the Chair was divided into Chair of Inorganic Chemistry and Chair of Analytical Chemistry. A very short survey of the development of teaching activities in the Chain of Inorganic Chemistry is presented in the present paper.
